Students clash in Ibadan over gambling

Several students were injured and properties vandalized on Thursday when students of Government College, Ibadan (GCI) and Apata Community Grammar School engaged one another in a free-for-all fight in Oyo State.

Witnesses say all commercial activities were halted in the Apata-Ganga area of the city during the skirmish.

The trouble reportedly started a day earlier when a student of Apata Community Grammar School, simply known as ‘Idan’, allegedly manipulated a gambling game against some students of GCI.

The purportedly swindled students of GCI reportedly mobilized their colleagues to mete out justice on the accused ACGS student which degenerated into a major inter-school clash.

When contacted, the state police command said no vehicle was vandalized, adding that it was only a mere argument among the students.

I wonder what their University days will be like. -->
