Violence and targeting of police formations and schools continued in
Borno state, as gunmen suspected of Boko Haram sect members torched the
Chibok Divisional Police Station, a Bible and primary schools,
including telecom masts of Global System of Mobile Communication (GSM)
firm in Chibok town at 6.35pm Tuesday.
Also, an associate of Sen. Ali Sheriff, Mustapha Flawama (62) was
shot dead in Maiduguri at his Polo ward residence by the same
suspected Islamists sect gunmen at 10.16am Wednesday.
An unconfirmed report had it that Alhaji Flawama was killed along two
others suspected to be his friends.
Chibok is 130 kilometres south of Maiduguri, the Borno state capital
and an epicenter of the Islamists sect.
According to an eyewitness and resident of Chibok, the gunmen came in
two unmarked Golf Volkswagen vehicles armed with petrol-bombs and
Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in attacking the police station; a
Bible and primary schools at dusk.
