A Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) officer, Thursday, narrowly escaped being lynched by commercial motorcyclists (popularly known as Okada riders) at Mile 2, Lagos.

It was not clear what enraged the Okada riders but a group, numbering about seven, parked their motorcycles and pursued the uniformed officer.

The officer barely missed being knocked down by a vehicle as he dashed, blindly, across the expressway and disappeared into the nearby Jakande Estate.

The new Lagos Traffic Law bans the activities of commercial motorcyclists at the, under construction, Lagos-Badagry Expressway including Mile 2.

The Okada riders are the worst hit on the traffic law as the police and LASTMA officers continue a strict enforcement of the law across the state.

The motorcyclists are already in court challenging the law.

Police in India have arrested a woman they say criticised the shutdown of the city of Mumbai on Facebook after the death of politician Bal Thackeray.

A woman friend who “liked” the comment was also arrested, they said.

The women, accused of “hurting religious sentiments”, were released on bail after appearing in court in the town of Palghar, police told the BBC.

The death of the controversial Hindu nationalist politician on Saturday afternoon brought Mumbai to a halt.

Thackeray, one of the most divisive figures in Indian politics, was blamed for inciting tensions between Hindus and Muslims and was revered by his followers.
Men, run for cover! Just when you think there could actually be real virgins out there not minding the prevalent rate at which young and unmarried couples are having s*x, the ‘white’ man has devised a means of turning all girls back to their ‘original’ state of virginity – for a little over N4700. Yes, That cheap!

How do we now differentiate the original virgins from the ‘artificial’ ones? Not like there are no good girls out there who are no virgins but then what this portends is you might end up with a commercial s*x worker and think, ‘Oh! this is her first time!’ Think carefully guys but sorry, we don’t know yet how to tell the difference – we’ll soon as we know anything new but till then, good luck!

Here’s how it works explained…

Nicole Delien is tired of sleeping

This 17-year-old teenager from North Fayette, Pa., has a rare condition called Kleine-Levin Syndrome -- or "Sleeping Beauty Syndrome" -- that makes her sleep 18 to 19 hours a day.

And when she does wake up, she is often so tuckered out that she is in a sleepwalking state and doesn't remember doing basic things like eating, according to KDKA-TV.

Nicole's somnambulant state has been so severe that she once slept through the holidays, awaking one day in January when she finally opened Christmas gifts alongside her family, according to ChartiersValley.Patch.com.

"She's never really adjusted to it," her mother, Vicki Delien told the website. "She's 17 now and it really upsets her. She's missed out on a lot."

The University of Abuja has been ordered to shut down by its authorities. The University was shut Monday morning following students’ unrest.

Reports from Gwagwalada, where the University is situated, said trouble started when some students of the Faculty of Engineering protested the inability of the school authority to bring out a timetable for their exams, even when students in other faculties have started theirs.

A University source said there is a problem with Engineering courses with regards to accreditation, as those who graduated from the faculty were yet to get their results.

“The authorities felt there is no point writing exams for courses that have no accreditation until the issue is resolved, but the students feel shortchanged by the management. That is why they started protesting today,” the source said.

More on the story later.

It is really something to be worried about these days as ladies go about almost looking like they were tired of clothes.

If that is even the case things can managed; the big problem is they still go around snapping pictures of these obscene displays.

It is really the time for parents to wake up on these girls that seem to have lost the the moral values of being young and energetic, and striving to be something one should be proud of.

Since then, the scope of attacks has widened to include the deletion of government and financial databases, and the posting of more than 2,000 email addresses and passwords from an Israeli real estate website.

A series of tweets from @YourAnonNews, a Twitter account associated with the hacktivist group, claimed that databases belonging to Bank Jerusalem and the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs had been deleted. Echoing a famous meme originated from the video game "Zero Wing," the account declared Friday:

When it comes to sex, there's a difference between pulling a train and delaying a train.

An amorous young couple in Morrum, Sweden, did the latter recently when they decided to get busy in a car right next to a train track.

Their lovemaking got derailed when the driver of a passing train slowed down because he feared someone in the car was attempting suicide, according to train dispatcher Mattias Hellberg.

"Often when cars are sitting near the tracks, it can be copper thieves at work or unfortunately a person who has tired of life," Hellberg said, according to DigitalSpy.
Barely few days after the NCC placed a ban on promos by telecom networks, MTN Nigeria was quick to announce the winner of their Ultimate Wonder Promo which saw one miss Ebube Essien-Garricks emerging as the winner of the promo as reported by Punch.

Facebook says Ebube doesn't exist, but she's got a fanPage to celebrate her victory.

To fulfill all righteousness and kill-off our suspicion of fraud, we did a random search of Ebube Essien-Garricks on Facebook; the world largest social media with over 1billion users. To our greatest shock, Ebube was no where to be found. At her age as MTN claims, 27 and a student of Uniport, we can argue till eternity that she must be on Facebook. Unfortunately, MTN Nigeria has become victims of their own fraud and manipulation as they forgot to create a profile for her.

All Vhuhwavho Ravhuhali wants is to lead a normal life, with a normal right arm, not one that keeps growing, and growing . . . and growing!

For 10 years poor Vhu, aged 13, has watched his arm become more and more swollen and elongated until today it hangs painfully by his side. He dreams of becoming a doctor.

But he doesn't go to school. Nor does he go out of the yard of his home in Tshivulani Village, near Thohoyandou, Limpopo. He's afraid the other boys will touch his arm and give him more pain.

His mother Betty is desperate to cure her son. But hospitals, doctors, spiritual healers, pastors, prophets and sangomas have not been able to help. Now there is hope in the form of Limpopo's MEC for Health, Norman Mabasa a doctor himself. Mabasa has promised to meet Vhuhwavho and his mum personally.

"I'll make sure Vhu gets the help he needs and a proper diagnosis at a hospital," he promised Daily Sun.

Said Betty: "It's hard for a mother to see her son, who is a sweet, bright child, suffering like this for so many years, sitting at home, crying with the pain. I don't know what to do any more."

Her family cannot afford to buy her toys so this this six-month-old plays with snakes instead.

The non-venomous snake could easily squeeze Sidhi to death or swallow her whole.

But her father, Siddharth Sinune, said he cannot afford to buy her toys – instead bringing home his prey from his job as a snake catcher.

Before putting them back in the forests, he keeps them at home for his only daughter’s amusement.

BlackBerry have introduced the ability to make voice calls between BBM contacts. The Service which is called BBM voice lets you make voice calls over wifi to BBM contacts by simply tapping the call button while in a chat and you’ll start a voice call. BBM Voice will add some great depth to BBM, providing you the ability to escalate a chat to a voice call when the situation calls for it. This feature should be huge in emerging markets or for anyone calling long distance as there will be no long-distance charges.

Additionally, in BBM you’ll be able to see each users status as well so you’ll know who is available for a call and who isn’t. When on a call you’ll see a split-screen view and can still use any other apps on your device. So you can still use the chat function as well as send pictures within BBM or even check email or use the browser.

We’ve all been there: a late night at the office, then straight to the bar to drown the sorrows, briefcase and all. The “drunk businessman” in this video, however, takes things to a new level — or rather, doesn’t, given his intoxicated inability to traverse the proper escalator.

The alcohol-induced incident, allegedly recorded Nov. 9, took place in London’s Tottenham Court Road tube station, according to The Telegraph.

“At first I thought he was playing silly buggers,” Sam Napper, the recording author, told The Sun, “but when we saw his dogged stagger and realized he was alone, I knew we were about to witness something truly brilliant.”

Brilliant or belligerent? Hard to say. But the moving-sidewalk stumbler carried on for several minutes, according to The Sun, before a good samaritan helped him out.

“Eventually, we let the poor sod out of his hamster wheel-like hell and pushed the emergency stop button,” Napper said. “After pausing for a few seconds, he turned around and walked out, as if nothing ever happened, saying nothing, leaving us stunned.”

No word yet on the boozy businessman’s identity.
